Delee has developed the CytoCatch, which is a highly sensitive device capable of rapidly isolating and analyzing circulating tumor cells (CTCs)from blood samples. CTCs are malignant cells that are shed from tumors and travel into vascular and lymphatic systems. The ability to detect these cells in the bloodstream can help detect cancer in its early stages, monitor the evolution of the disease, and personalize treatment.

The CytoCatch fully automates the isolation and analysis ofCTCs. CTCs are dyed with fluorescent antibodies to differentiate between malignant cells and normal blood. An imaging system using an artificial intelligence algorithm will automatically perform a classification and enumeration of the captured CTCs based on their morphology and the expression of specific antigens. By detecting cancer in its early stages, treatment can be personalized to the patient and increase their chances of defeating the disease. And because the CytoCatch automates testing, it reduces human error in handling samples and interpreting results.

Delee expects to obtain FDA approval for the CytoCatch technology in 2023. Prior to obtaining FDA approval for the CytoCatch, Delee plans to sell it for research to pharmaceutical companies and researchers. Once the technology obtains theFDA approval, Delee will commercialize it as a diagnostic medical device to hospitals and laboratories.
